What can you learn from Mayan wisdom, if you’re not Mayan

Hola curious creature,

A few lines for you at 22:22

As I continue to integrate and deepen into the Maya way of life, spiritually speaking, I will continue to share with you the concepts that make my body tingle.

At first, my mind was like “Why would you care? Especially, if you feel zero connection to this world?”

But, my intuition keeps getting stronger by the day and following her over my mind seems like a better plan.

I did ask Tata Julio - my teacher - “what are your thoughts around sharing this knowledge with people outside of the Maya culture? How can it help them?"

He said 3 things, matter of fact:-

  1. These concepts are universal, if you feel it use them, if not, then don't

  2. If you can help someone, do it

  3. Honour, reciprocate and give thanks to the wisdom you learn from anyone

He went on to tell me a story, and with hands to my chin - you know that I'm-intently listening-to-you-childlike-position - he said:

“One time I did a distance healing ceremony for the husband of an American traveller I had met a few years before. Her husband had a heart condition and it wasn't improving, in fact, it was deteriorating. A few days later, it was the day in our calendar to ask Tijax (the nawal*/ energy that deals with cutting, tying, removing and matters of health) for its support.

And so I did it.

I used my obsidian knife and proceeded to cut those dark energies. When I told her what I'd done, she wasn't too happy I had done the ceremony without asking his permission.

In my view, if you can help then you must,

In any case he wasn't able to communicate effectively at the time. Now, he can."

There is a refreshing and non BS way of dealing with things in the Maya culture that I really resonate with. Or what I refer to as more bones less crystals aka grounded wisdom.

So, by sharing this free gift - the Wayeb - I invite you join me in observing the last 5 days of the year (according to the Maya) in preparation for the new year ahead.

I'm genuinely super interested in hearing your thoughts and what resonates with you after you read through it.

Feel free to reach out here

In Joy + Power,

x

Caro
